Thank you very much for the help, how long have you been collecting all this
milling stuff J. S.? I have actually read just about everything there is on
the internet about the mill, of which there is not much. I have seen it
listed atleast four times as the VBRP, even on www.lathes.co.uk . I was told
Beaver was bought by a US company which is why there is so little
information about them. At the auction I was at a few weeks back they had a
Beaver Pal with a case of tooling and a lion painted on where it's wood
chewing partner used to be on it's side. Looking at BVRP I'm seeing the
smoke clear, BVRP = BeaVeR Pal. Somewhere along the lines there has been a
mix up. The mill looked incredibly solid and was by far the least worn one
there. The BVRP (Which now opens the doorway to lots more 'net searching)
comes as a 40 or 30 I read. Where abouts are you John? How much does a new
set of ballscrews cost for a mill of this size out of interest? I am sitting
down. : )

John,
Here's a picture of a Beaver BVRP
http://www.zhongyang-engrg.com/catalog/me9954.htm
They are 10" x 48" table machines with a 40 Int spindle taper. Same
build up as a Bridgeport but a *lot* stronger. Motor is usually 4 or
5 Hp 440v 3 phase, but I have seen these with 3Hp single phase fitted.
Brand new ER32 collet chucks cost 35 pounds each at the moment.
Somewhere kicking about I have a box of 20 plus pieces of 40 int
tooling that's going spare. Most have closer nuts missing and there
are only a few collets.
I even have spare X and Y axis ball screws for one of these with the
motor mounts and bearings.
Although some one was interestd in the Y axis screw.
