File transfer Windows to EMC

Sounds like you have a working system. I'm going to mention a couple
possibles at the start of the list that are not your favorites.
1 - Linux is very happy reading dos or mac disks. (sneakernet)
2 - With dual boot, Linux will read the entire dos/win partition. (Not the
other way round)
3 - With a real network, you can send files back and forth or configure
the Linux box to see the windows box as friendly and pass info and do
work. I believe that I read some Howto on Linux using the MS network
cheapie where you just wire two machines together. (can't remember it's
name)
4 - With telnet, you can even run the windows box from an x-window on
Linux or the Linux box from a window on MS. Henkka (yty.net) has some
stuff on this.
5 - You can run many MS-windows programs under emulators within Linux.
I've heard rumblings that at least one EMC user is running both Rhino and
Vector under the Wine emulators and passing files between the three of
them.
6 - ? Do what you want/can because the Linux world is open to you!

I am getting ready to get new computers/software for my home cnc
system(currently using demo/free stuff). I was thinking of going to
EMC but I was wondering how your guys are transfering files from your
windows computers to the EMC computer. I currently transfer files
over the network(windows to dos/windows). I realy don't want to
tranfer diskettes between my clean computer and the one in the shop
or reboot to get network support. My backup plan is to just stay
with dos based software(CNC PRO) for convenience. I plan to use
Vector or Autocad 2002 Mechanical(this would be free to me with at
work tech support) for design.
Thanks for you help,
