I bought a big stack of machinable wax cutoffs on eBay. It is the same
stuff as jewelers casting wax. You can reuse your scraps by melting
them. You can get lost wax castings made from this material. I have
even used it for one or two off sand casting models, although the
foundry doesn't really like it.

You can take really big cuts. It's fun to watch the ribbons of wax fly
off your tool.
