Hi Dave,

Are you running 4-phase drives? Otherwise, you should be able to get
all four axis through one parallel port. If you're writing your own
software, you might think about a port expander. Jon is actually doing
something like a port expander in HIS hardware (as I recall). So you
might want to consider that.

O2Micro doesn't ring any bells. 6832/33, almost sounds like it's for a
Motorola processor? Nah, couldn't be. O2 Micro has a web site:

They say the 6833 is Intel 80365SL compatible. Inclined to write your
own socket services? Basically, you have to do an "I/O mapping" of the
parallel port's registers into the PC's I/O map. Then you can "see" the
new port's registers. I'd contact them for a spec.
