I'd have to agree with you 100% Chris....except I use QuickCAD for most of
my CAD drawings.
It's pretty simple to draw using layers, save the layer you want for a tool
path and import it to Vector....which is the best tool path generator by far
that I've used so far. I like Vector better than MasterCAM8.1 by at least a
factor of 1000. BTW....after importing to Vector, I've found it's sometimes
better (to avoid confusion created by too many lines (lines added when
vector draws a pocketing tool path) to save the tool path and .dxf files
with a new name, erase some lines and create the next tool path. The tool
path files can always be merged later.
When I need a 3D drawings I switch to Rhino.
Other CAD programs also give you the option of saving files in .dwg, .dxf,
.stl .jpg and other formats which import into other programs much easier.
