Wow!
I must have received 20 messages about this "dome" thing today. My
intent was for you fellow techno nerds out there to try and construct
the dome geometry using your current CAM software. This will let you
know if your software has the whoopee to do full and true 3D.
So it looks like I'll make a dome program. Give me a day or so, so I
can put out some other fires I have going on. I will send a copy of
this dome program to those of you that have forwarded your e-mail
addresses to me and I will also post the program on the "Files" area
of Yahoo that correspond to this group.
The program will be basically point to point and everything will
be "G1" linear feed mode or "G0" rapid moves. This should run on most
of the controls out there with very little editing. When machining
true 3D there are no canned cycles or special routines, everything is
point to point. I will also send/post setup instructions for the
program too.
Will get back to all of you in a day or so.
ThanksÂ….yethdear
