Alan,
No reason to worry about the Z-axis - don't have one, as it's a 2D table
(plasma) What would be the easiest fix to make them perp? Just make sure
they are the same distance from the end of the ballscrew as the other?

Sounds like your axis are not perpendicular. It's not the axis itself,
rather, it is the relationship between the two (or 3, how about Z?).
