Chris
Have a ESAB CXA 6' x 12' cantilever table with 2 torches and 1 plasma.
Found our squares were parallelgrams when cutting at high speeds with
plasma, high speeds only being 100 to 110 in/per min. Spent alot of time
trying to square up table, but discovered after alot of head scratching that
when puting a radius on corners that it cancels out corner slow down. With
rack & pinion drive sharpe turns at high speed force gear out of rack a
small amount, then gear on straight cut moves back in to rack tightly,
causing cut to be out of square momentarily. Still, check table for square.
We found by reducing amp. on plasma and slowing machine speed down, gives us
more accurate cuts. The smaller the squares the more noticable the
parallelgram look. Also remember all plasmas cut with a certain amount of
bevel, cause cuts to look out of square sometimes. Also find plasmas make
circles look like ovals because of bevel cuts sometimes. hope this is some
help.
