EMC without rtlinux ?

I would like to run EMC using sim.run on my office machine. This for
program verification and backplot only. Thus I don't need parallel port
output. (I'd like to avoid walking to the shop only to find there is an
error in my G-Code. :-)
I installed the Aug. 11, 2000 emc without problem. However when I fire
it up I get an error complaining about no real-time platform. Is there
an easy way around this?
Alternately, is there a verification and plot program for G-Code which
corresponds well to emc G-Code?
Thank you.
