I'd use Rhino. I got my copy for the $295 student discount rate.
You can draw the various parts on different layers, right in the correct
orientation.
Turn the layers you want to look at on and the others off.
Then rotate in any direction and enlarge or reduce to suit.
You can also inspect a shaded view as well as render the views using
different colors for each part.
