As I mentioned earlier, I'm running a Sherline spindle to over 7,000
rpm. This is well beyond Sherline design specs. One thing I've done to
help bearings last is reduce belt tension. By most anyone's standards,
I'm running a loose belt. Spindle mass is greatly reduced with the small
pulley I'm using and I have no problems with either belt slipping, or
wear. Been using the same belt for close to 2 years now.
