This isn't much help but that was one of the big selling point of the
Tree CNC servo machines. The x+y axis had handwheels and the z axis
had a rotary encoder on the control panel. The machinest would cut
the part by hand with the controller showing a DRO display. When the
machinest finished he could go back and edit the g-code program
created or run it as may times as he wished. I guess you could do
something similar with any CNC machine that had a DRO and the right
software.
