Rick,
Well, I wouldn't rule that out. It seems that there are some
computers that TurboCNC doesn't like; and if you're one of the
unfortunate few to own one of those, then my sincere apologies to you.
While you're troubleshooting, try running FKEYBIT (it's in the
download) to toggle the port pins on and off. Start it up with the
port name as the command line parameter:
FKEYBIT LPT1 (or LPT2 or LPTM)
I can't take credit for writing it though. Terry King built this
to solve exactly the same problem you're working on. You should be
able to get something to move with his program. Be sure to hit "P"
to see the pin numbers displayed onscreen.
For everyone else:
An encoder wheel input is planned for the next rev of TurboCNC.
Been on my back burner a while now, but I never thought anyone would
be interested in something like that.
