Two numbers to keep in mind for calculating power supply voltages,
.707 times the required voltage will equal transformer voltage required.
1.414 times a given transformer voltage will equal the output voltage of
a simple bridge rectified, capacitor filtered supply. (the type we
use).
Note the decimals.
