Hello Ray,
might be you misunderstood me. In the case I talk of, the cam is on the
end of the table screw while the nut and the micro switch are fixed to
the bed itself. (Typical case: Bridgeport x table) So the micro switch
will be hit by the cam only on the end of the travel. Obviously it needs
some tinkering to position the micro switch well so it does enter right
on
the ramp.
The cam may run out like a snail house up to full diameter with the
pitch ot the thread, so it will help as safe limit too. And on the other
side you put a mirror part for the limit switch.
