DeskwinNC is working off the serial port. There is a requirement for
6-12VDC power for the onboard components. Carken designed the board
with a 7805 to regulate the 5V output. Thus if you connect one of the
spare +5 terminals on the deskWinNC interface board with the common
signal terminal on the Gecko G201/G320 you will supply the necessary
signal return. Similarly, If the jumpers on the G210/G340 are set for
common +5 then they will work fine also.
If using deskwinnc and you are using a G210/G340 set in the common
signal ground settings, then you just connect one of the ground screw
terminals on the interface board from deskwinnc to the common connection
on the Gecko which completes the circuit. You still need the external
wall wart of 6-12VDC to power the internal PIC chip on the interface
board.
