Not computer related, but you could use the SKF system for bearing balls.
Two angle
ground steel plates, say 19/32 at one end and 7/8 at the other and maybe
18 inches long. Mount at slight angle to the horizontal. Roll the balls down
the ramp thus
made and let them sort themselves out, falling through at the proper place.
