Hi Ethan,
seems the consensus is the steel rails, but that does not require any
computer control.
even a ball feeder to let each ball roll without interference from
one behind could be stand alone.
and if you chose this style and wanted it to look really cool, you
could put an angled bounce plate under each position, and let the
ball drop through a tube to align it's path, hit the bounce plate and
bounce a foot or two into the awaiting bucket.
Is there anything else in your project you need ? counting ?
packaging, marking ? that would add to the need for some CNC ?
also, let us know if were on the right path for your project.
