WOW, some folks throw $ at their sources like it was toxic! A ULN-2003 has
SEVEN "current-sinking" Darlingtons with "TTL-in", and up to 500 mA sink, per
O.C. output (of which there are seven, incl. EMI bucking diodes). That is
in a 16-pin DIP plastic package, and they cost about a buck each, depending
on what vendor, where.

The Step and Direction inputs can be fed from 74HC02 IC's with NO problem!
