Do you want to run loads of current eg 13 amps or more at mains voltage.

If so, I once used an optical triac to run a standard High power ac relay.

I used this to run a Burco water boiler from one of the cheap electronic
thermometer modules.

I used it to heat water to exactly the correct temperature to dissolve
honey.

I used a transistor to drive the optical led.

It works well and runs 13 amps at 240 volt,

The advantage of this method is there is no resistive load through the
relay.

You may have to change the relay occasionally if the contacts burn out.
