Hi Alan,
Thought I had better take this of list before Bill W. throws a fit. Devizes
is not the end of the world but if your looking for engineering interest
forget it. There are some interesting old shops in the town but hand tools
only. Don't forget the Cain Hill flight of locks on the Kennett and Avon
canal. Of course there is Wadworths brewery but then beer may not be to
your taste. If your are still about on the 6th and 7th of July there is a
steam rally and fair at Heddington. Its about half way between Devizes and
Chippenham.
Failing that head for the Tourist Information Centre in Devizes and raid
their leaflets.
Just a thought if your interested in beam engines then Crofton beam engines
are not to far away and very impressive when in steam.
