Ha Ha well that is where I was at headquarters of a large corporation
about 15 years. I still consult for them developing new technology.
I try to mostly turn perfectly good wood in to sawdust now though.

I think you really could make a fairly good autocollimator
(laser or otherwise) from junk parts. The store bought ones
go from $1000 to $30,000!! The best ones can do sub arc seconds.
