No, it may not be economical. First, you need something that is pretty
stiff as a base. If it flexes, all work built on top of it will be a waste.
Second, it needs to be pretty close to straight, or the amount of epoxy
will quickly become VERY expensive.

Two materials used for these purposes are Moglice and Turcite, and

info. They have enough info on these sites to get a pretty good idea
what can be done with them.
