You apparently have a "\" where you need a "/" in the page that brings up the picture.
But, I figured it out and saw the pics, anyway.

These are almost certainly IR LEDs. It is a rather unusual package, looks like
surface mount, and square. You might look in the Digi-Key catalog and see what
they have. They may have something that is comparable. Do any of the LEDs
light up when you power the scale on? If not, then they must be IR. If they light
up bright red, then they may be visible red LEDs. If they light up just a little red,
they may be IR with some visible red emission (not uncommon). Don't stare into
them, you can hurt your eyes with intense IR output.
