1a. Intellicad 2001 from CMS. Free, Autocad workalike. This will allow you
to draw your parts and generate a DXF file. Windows '95 or better
1b. VectorCAD - Cad only version specially priced (See Fred Smith's E-Mails
for url with pricing) Will also allow you to draw your parts. Has SOME cam
friendly features enabled, such as drawing an offset to a line. Approx $50.
Windows '95 or better (Fred still may be offering the Win 3.1 version - Can
you comment, Fred?)
2. YeagerAutomation ACE Converter. Free, Converts DXF file into G-Code.
You'll have to edit this G-Code to add feeds, etc. Windows 95.
3. TurboCNC G-Code interpreter. Shareware $20. Downloadable one is not
crippled in any way from 'full' version. Full version gets you the source
code. Disclaimer - While I chose this software before I had an interest in
it, I'm now working on the product with Dave Kowalski. DOS
4. EMC - Another G-Code interpreter. Free if you're willing to download,
something like $10 if you want a CD. Source code available. Linux.
For around $100 or less, you can purchase several G-Code interpreters. Most
are DOS based, Master5 runs under Windows '95 or better.

|Thanks to all that replied.
|The advice you shared was most welcome :-)
|
|Now comes the burning question!
|Are there any gnu / shareware CAD/CAM packages available as I am on a
|tight buget.
|Some of the packages already metioned apear to cost $$$$

|TIA
