I need more power

Hi guys,

I'v got a NEMA34 single stack on a drill press feed.
the stepper has a 24 tooth XL drive gear and the drill have a 72 XL
tooth driven gear.

I'd like to increase power considderably.

I am thinking that my most obvious choices are;
get a bigger stepper,
add a jackshaft and another timing belt set
switch to a gear motor
add a worm gear.
change down feed to a ball screw or something.

I've been looking at gear heads for Oriental motors, but they seem
like they are for AC motors, not steppers.

I am limited on space, could use a NEMA34 triple stack. I am
wondering if I would then need to switch out from the XL belts?
(my 50 tooth L gear is HUGE ! so that is not real attractive)

any suggestions ?
