Hi, sounds like either there is a problem with the encoder, or there
is electrical noise on the ground circuit. If can try another motor,
see if you can rule out the encoder. Be sure the +, -, A , and B are
correctly wired. Are you powering the encoder from the Gecko or from a
separate 5V supply?
