Try swapping the encoder A and B channels ,.. for some reason this
makes a difference on some setups. I have Camtronics servo's and had
the same trouble. Did your servo's come with US digital encoders?

Note : with no step and direction signals the servo will bounce back
and forth between encoder marks. If there is a problem with the
encoder circuit then the motor will run away.
