Sound Great, well thought out.

Only concern I have is with membrane switches.
Not reliable, no tactile feedback and difficult
to use when not looking directly at them.

If you must... use it for the less often used
function buttons and use a joy stick for
jog direction and speed.

Also... NO e-stop. Instead use some sort of
pause maybe?

Perhaps an E-stop conductor loop in the pendant
cable, that gets ripped in two when I'm running
for the door.

As for Another Function Key... "Macro Record"
that can Start/Stop Recording of my Jog Movements.
