Dean,
Feed hold is the commonly used verbage for your item number one.
What will your product offer over the xkeys type products already
available? (they are programmable keystroke emulators, and some are
USB)

P.S. I'd suggest you include an "enter" button (making things a two
step procedure, which shows intent); and some sort of audible and/or
visual feedback prior to "sending" any command which causes motion.
