Oh Ya, I remember that..... But I worked with a lot of Plasics and non
conductive stuff. :-( The other downfall was in order to really work
great, it had to run extremely slow, AND, you didn't dare use long ramps
for that as it smashed itself into the material before it stopped moving.

Mostly, that is a controller issue rather than a Pendant issue. A
controller just needs to allow an input to be "switched" by a "known
Thickness Switch/Puck". THEN the controller software knows what to do
with the point it switched at. The very best method is to let it run a
little faster, design a switch that allows an "overrun" situation, then
let the software back up and find it again. Similar to How Art uses a
modified Dial indicator as a probe. That was a great Idea !

The start of this is to make the "switch/Puck" device, Create the logic
that when the contact is made, it backs up, disengages, then slowly
re-aproaches finding the "real" location. Then we can do that much
faster on some of those long stroker machines showing up out there.

Our MultiCam "puck" laid in the box all its life. But, the concept can
still be applied to work if someone grabs it by the horns and just does
it. I'd bet Art could do that without thinking !
