Re: DRO on computer?

optical mouse,interresting indeed...
im sitting here trying to figure out how to use it in a machine. its
a bit tricky unless one mount it on some sort of scale or guide. i
guess a "mechanical" mouse allows for a more simple installation,
since you can fix the slotted encoder wheels directly on the feed
screws.

read standard optical mice have a resolution of 800 dpi and that the
good ones have 2400 dpi. Seems like a cheap source for an encoder. I
read the following article awhile ago
