Greetings to all. I'm new to this group. I've been making metal
chips manually for some time wiht my south Bend lathe, Sheldon
horizontal mill and South Bend shaper...well now I've reached a point
where I have a project involving a very complex graphic that I just
don't see a way to do without CNC. I'm leaning toward's SuperTech's
version of the Taig mill run with SuprCAM...but there's just SO many
choices out there I'm rather overwhelmed.
I'm computer-literate when it comes to Windows, Office and graphics
programs, but when it comes to CAM/NC and so forth teh closest I ever
came was years ago I started to learn a little about writing code for
the old relay-logic Fanuc controllers...and that wasn't really part of
my job anyway so exposure was very limited.
What I'm looking for is some package that will allow me to import a
windows graphics file [.bmp, .jpg, whatever--don't matter--I can
convert between formats easily] and mill it into the workpiece like
SuperCAM says it can do--but I've had very ltitle luck with the demo
version of it.
I'm open to recommendations,. suggestions, advice...
Thanks
