The really big problem is that most of what I have I picked up Surplus,
and I grabbed enough to keep me "switched" for a while. Countless others
come from having a brother in the Vending machine business. Some vending
machines will have at least 50 of them.
If I had to pick up some new ones, I would likely order a small variety
from Digi-Key and see which ones feel right. They list operating force,
but I'm not sure what mine are. I know they are rather "stiff" and I
find that important. I've also done pretty well now and then at the
trade shows where the Cherry Guys generally have a large bin of Switches
as samples !
I also put some real small footprint lever switches on another
machine... Burgess #LPHSPYIGP and they seem to hold a good tolerance.
As a side note, I find that it works well to use Roller End switches on
the "home" end of things, but prefer extra long levers on the "Far" end.
This way, if ever I had an unattended "overrun" in the positive
direction, There is a little more room allowed by the advantageous
flexing of the long arm. Have not had that problem yet though !
