I'm considering 3 posibilities right now. Visual Mill, Vector and Dolphin. I've tried VM, and while it works well for 3D machining, I find the 2/2.5D capabilities a little weak.

It looks like Vector and Dolphin both do what VM does, plus they add support for plasma cutting, which is a feature I need.

I can't figure out the difference between Dolphin CAD/CAM and Dolphin 3D CAD/CAM. Other than extended file support in 3D, it looks like they both do the same thing, but there has to be more to it than that.
