Hi Bill,
Personally I just bit the bullet and purchased a breakout
board with optical isolators. Here is the URL
www.campbelldesigns.com Look for the Breakout boards. $125
insurance policy. Cheaper than my computer!
I know that Bob is off on holidays but that his product is used by
many on this list and others. That was my choice. Also it nested
with the Mach1 that I purchased to control my machine from Art.
