Hybrid Connectors Was Re: availability of composite multiconductor cable?

I'm looking at some hybrid d-shell connectors that have 2 power pins
and 5 signal pins.

If I use 2 seperate cables for power and signal, but they enter the
backshell at 90 deg to each other, wire to their respective pins and
then seperate again inside the box, will this still be a problem?

As I understand it, running the wire for a distance in parallel is
the problem and not the being close in a few places.
