I have done quite a bit of home carbon fibre molding and the best
release agent I have used is PVA. It is basically a mixture of PVA
adhesive (white glue), alcohol and an ink. You can buy it from
moulding suppliers or make your own. It is painted (very in industry)
thinly on to the item, allowed to dry and then normally wax is
applied on top. The pva forms a thin plastic like barrier and
removal can be aided with water as is disolves (especially well when
it hasn't been baked).
Two key things when making the nut:
1. Soak in water to help disolve the pva
2. mould in two flats on the outside (or make a square nut) to allow
you to give it a little welly with a spanner when the time comes.
Good luck
