More power/speed with a Taig can rapidly become meaningless. There is no
real advantage to having the table moving much faster then 20 - 30 ipm.
You will not be cutting at that speed and even on the long axis you only
have 12" to travel. More power would give you the ability to take
heavier cuts IF the spindle was up to the load. On the 2019CR you only
have a 1/8 hp AC spindle motor. It does not take a real heavy cutting
load. I have sold a number of Taig mill owners Sherline DC motors with
speed control to upgrade the cutting capabilities of their Taigs. Of
course if you are doing jewelry stuff this is all overkill.

Speaking of overkill, if you really want to make it go fast then get a
DeskCNC servo kit instead. I just had the FedEx man drop off my kit that
I will be playing with. Reports are that it has MUCH higher performance
than a stepper setup.
