Neither, the circumference of a circle is equal to Pi * D where D is
the diameter. Therefore the reduction ratio is equal to the ratio of
the diameters. So 5/2 = 2.5:1 reduction, 2/1 = 2:1 reduction. The
combination of 5":2":1" would provide a total of 5:1 reduction (2.5 *
2).
