Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] RF45s and clones: DON'T. My contributions...

In my defense, Jon, I've helped several individuals in detail with their
CNC conversion. I even sent one individual a few spindles that we ran
off for him on our CNC lathe.

Furthermore, Nook, 5TPI, 0.625" describes the part well enough to know
what we are using. I could have added McMasterCarr, but he'll probably
be able to find the Nook website with what I gave.

The problem with starting to discuss our CNC conversions is that it
takes much, much more than a few emails to get to the heart of it. When
I said it takes a book, I meant it.

One more thing: I was a significant contributor to the EMC group in the
past. I wrote a 10 page document and shared it with others on how to
build rtai and EMC for Linux systems.

I've also tried to answer as many or more posts as what I post. The
RF45 post wasn't started by me. I jumped in and offered some advice
that hopefully helps someone else. If I wasn't interested in
contributing, I wouldn't have said anything.

My post on tapping was a reply to a question as well. I spouted what I
knew and posed some questions and as a result we all learned something.
I even had one poster write and thank me for asking the questions
because he had the same ones.

One more thing: I've written and rewritten nearly a thousand lines of
TurboCNC code for version 3. I've been discussing this with the author
and it will probably be released to the community at some point. My
code has included a G76 canned threading routine with a P parameter to
signify a number of finishing passes, G102/G103, which are special
canned helical circle cutting routines, G770, 771, 772 routines which
are used for straight line milling, significant improvements to the jog
and single step operation, including the use of up to 3 feedwheels, file
browsing, etc, etc. etc. I've also got symbols in the partfiles
working.

I might not be the biggest contributor to the CNC community, but I doubt
that I'm the smallest contributor and I try to give more than I get.
