Hi daniel,

Sorry for the confusion. You have an 8 wire motor, as you've deduced.
You'll want to use one winding from each phase. Start by hooking up one
pair of windings, say black-blue, then choose another pair for the 2nd
phase. The motor will run if one winding from each phase is connected,
it will just vibrate if both windings are from the same phase. If it
doesn't run, swap out the second set. It won't hurt the motor or
driver. You can even connect a 12V tail light in series with the driver
+ wire to limit the current. Keep the other wires from touching
anything or each other. I have worked out many steppers this way.
Sometimes the wires come out in two distinct groupings, this is often an
indication of the two phase groups.

The other thought is to check with compumotor for their wire colors.
