True servo systems WILL have a better dynamic response than any open loop
step/dir system. True servos have a feedback path, open loop controls do not
(beyond the drive electronics).

If people choose to call these step/dir drives that use common DC motors
"Servo systems" with all that it implies, then the debate will just
degenerate.
