Back when I was considering using EMC, I tried a whole bunch of ways to burn
that CD, and I'm STILL not sure if I ever did it correctly, or if I had
problems with the machine I was trying to install it on.

I had a very hard time finding info on the ISO 9660 image burning process,
and I'm pretty knowledgeable about computers in general, Windows, some hp-ux
and Solaris.

Finally gave up and now I'm using Mach2.

But I didn't know about this forum back then-probably would be using EMC
right now if I had! :)

This is the most common problem. The BDI image is an ISO-9660
file system, and has to be burned to the CD *AS AN ISO-9660 IMAGE*
to work. Most CD burning programs have a check box hidden somewhere
deep in an "expert" menu to enable this. If you don't do this, you have
just copied a file to a CD, but not made a bootable image of it. Big
difference, and NO warning whatsoever that it won't work.
