Hey David,
Its funny you mention that. I have several of the Mini-ITX EPIA boards
and yes, excellent price for the amount of hardware that you get. I do
have SUSE 8.x running on one of mine also, flawlessly.
At one time using SUSE as my Base was an option but several people that I
talked to advised against compiling my own EMC in SUSE. Source
Modifications would be necessary.. I barely can hold my own in Linux but
if I have to mod C-source I might be stepping into the unknown.
I would need to work with someone that knows what code to modify using
error/processor/debug logs as reference.
I sure would like to go this direction if I could... The only problem I
see with using SUSE is the BDI distributions had many great support files
and pluggins that are very nice additions to EMC. I wouldnt want to be
without them. I think they were built primarily for RedHat distros.
