BDI-Live is based on Morphix http://www.morphix.org which is derived from
Knoppix. However, Morphix has several features that make it far more
attractive for customising to the needs of an EMC system.

The next public release of BDI-Live is nearing completion and will be a
monster in comparison to rc23. At around 600Mb, it packs in KDE and all the
development tools required to recompile EMC.
Based on Debian, users have access to over 14,000 pre-built packages in the
main repositories.
