Well - Bryan contacted SWI, and after talking to an engineer for a
while, he found out that there are often shims between the inner races
of the two bearings, between 0.003 and 0.010, I think (0.003, 0.005, or
0.010 were the numbers, I believe). He was about to try cutting some
shims when I last talked to him. I managed to break a bearing retaining
ring, so I haven't progressed much while waiting for a replacement.
