I could only run a reduced setup on one axis, the other two need to
be direct drive. Looks like steppers might have to do it...Can you
run steppers with 320's?

Like 2 or 3 : 1. Steppers will work without reduction because all of
their torque is achieved at hold and low RPM. Servos differ in that
their torque is achieved at higher RPM's. Do a "google" for "Stepper
versus Servo comparison". There is a graph that will show each types
torque characteristics.
