Its very simple if you have Bob Campbell's Breakout board. How I did mine: Mounted a solid state relay on the wire that operates the motor starter contacts (the wire going to the solenoid on the motor contacts). Then ran a pair of 22 gauge wires from the solid state relay back to the Campbell breakout board. Mounted the relay right inside the starter enclosure on the back of the machine. I have to leave the old manual switch in forward or reverse position and the solid state relay controlled from Campbell's board completes the circuit and actually turns the motor on and off. There are 4 auxillary outputs on the board to control spindle,mist coolant, flood coolant, etc. These are activated through the software either manually or via m-codes in the program. I understand you can also do it right off the LPT port however the PC will not be protected. I have my spindle and mister (solid state relay controls a solenoid valve) wired like this and it makes much nicer to use. Put a part in
the vise and click the trackball once only. maybe I'm just lazy.
