I purchased it about the first of November- got one of those telemarketing
sales guys, and he quickly went from $299 to $199.
It includes a decent manual, ( unusual for previous versions of TurboCAD). I
ran the examples in the manual OK. I tried to run the Tutorial CDs and the
very first 'do it yourself' exercise wont run as described. TurboCAM is
strictly 2D mill and lathe. I have not even looked at the lathe part.
Just after I got it Sheetcam went 'on sale' for $100. I had tried the demos
and it seemed decent. I purchased a license for sheetcam and have used it a
good bit- I like it a lot. I use TurboCAD to do the dxf file, then run it
into sheetcam. I have generated a couple pocketing jobs- carving around
letters to make raised letters.
I like sheetcam a LOT better than TurboCAM- I just tried to run a test in
TurboCAM and cant seem to get it to work with offset. In sheetcam offset
just works.
My advice is save your money- but if you really want it, Id be happy to sell
my TurboCAM 2.5 :-) I dont know what IMSI thinks of re-sale.
I have just ordered an upgrade of TurboCAD Pro to 10.5 The CAM package wont
run on the 10.5 upgrade. I like TurboCAD and will stick with it, but I wont
upgrade the CAM.
